Our group’s expertise in developing psychological interventions for adults and pediatric populations with chronic physical illnesses makes impact at the moments of suffering
The group examines behavioral change interventions mostly in non-traditional settings and through digital, personalized, idiographic interventions and how these interventions can fit the needs of individuals in the community. The group conducts multi method research and attempts to collect data and propose personalized psychological solutions for distressed individuals with ongoing chronic physical illnesses.

Our group’s multilevel research attempts to understand the links between skin conditions and the mind (how people react), considering all the possible environmental and personal characteristics.
Through a series of studies, the group has identified several useful ways for people with skin conditions to respond to unwanted internal experiences (thoughts or emotions, and physical sensations like itching) and external barriers (poor access to appropriate treatment) in a more workable way. The goal of this accumulated knowledge is to help people with skin conditions live a meaningful life even in the presence of painful symptoms, and the stresses of ongoing skin flare-ups.
Guiding your self through the Living Well with a Skin Condition program
No matter how skin conditions are expressed, one thing’s for sure: they can hurt your body and mind. Most of the time, your automatic response to your skin condition and the associated emotions are unworkable, and this is what we will change.
